Amongst the sipping of the cherry coke, the munching of the peanut m&m's and the crunching of the sugar snap peas, i want to just take a second to a)confirm that i am NOT having a baby i am just plain greedy and b)fill you in on life in the Paterson household!
Yesterday we did this....
We took Joshy for his first visit to Ashton Gate which is where our team (bristol city) play. Why...because we want to get him used to the noise and crowds etc for when we take him, which hopefully wont be too far away! He is a football fan for sure, wanting to play and watch it all the time! So, whilst David went in for the game (so jealous) we hung around outsdie, peeked through the gates and played in the park opposite listening to the crowd roar. It was fun. This is scrumpy the mascot robin...and not only did Joshy meet him but also we saw one of the player (louis Carey)...big day!! We got him his first Bristol City shirt and his own football and he is so happy...He always loves it when we wear our football shirts, especially David, and he was so excited when we put his on him. He kept patting the badge and looking at it to make sure it was still there. then played football for two hours straight. Hopefully he will keep getting better and make us lots of money in the future...but until then we'll just have fun :)
So, This weekend marked 8 years since David and I met. We entered the MTC on 16th April 2003 and met that day. Granted, we didnt really speak in the MTC until the last week and even then it was brief...but we decided to celebrate it anyway seen as we ended up writing every week whilst on our missions. Weird huh! So, chinese food and movie night...yummy...actually sounds like any other weekend only this time we reminised about the good old days ha ha! so, happy 8 years to us :) The picture below freaks me a little because not only do i not remember it being taken (the bottom one) but i think it is weird that its just us two in it...in front of the temple we later had wedding pictures outside. I was a good missionary i promise!
Joshy is doing fab...I was really worried about his language as he doesnt say that much. But the past two weeks things have turned around and it would appear that he has been taking everything in. His words are still not clear...mainly sounds...but enough for us to know what he is trying to tell us (most of the time). His favorite thing at the moment are the letters in his name. He recognises 'J, o,s and a'..and in different areas as well...books, magnets, drawn on the floor ...which is bizarre. The boy cant speak a line but will prob spell it soon ha ha. Some of the cutest things he says are 'Oh yeah', 'Amen', 'Job done' (he says bob bum) and 'mom' at the top os his voice'. Recently 'jeans' and 'cheese' have made an appearence, but they both sound the same so we are yet to figure that out :)
HE loves to sing...or rather listen to me sing. Not david though, good job as david hates singing. His favorite at the moment is I am a child of God followed by two little dickey birds. I think this is where a pro of working in a nursery school comes in...i know a countless array of songs that most people have never heard of. He loves them and smiles/laughs a lot when i say 'shall we sing'.
Joshy is still a water baby and loves being at the ppol. He is on his second lot of swimming classes now and is doing ok. They changed the time for the older childrens class so it coincides with nap time...not the best but he is managing. I think we will stop them for a few months afet this course finishes as im a bit worried that its taking the fun out of swimming and i dont want to do that! Nevertheless, his confidence and swimming skills have improved dramatically and he loves jumping in, standing on his own and splashing and practicing big boy swimming. So cute! I managed to sneak a pic of daddy and joshy on his lesson.
Joshy loves being naked! Seriously, the boy would be naked all day and not care! ALthough he slaps 'it' around a lot. I think he wants to make sure it is still there lol. Very funny to watch the hyper boy appear as you take his layers off!
HE is a pickle with his food at hte moment but im trying not to worry. Any tips/advice most welcome. He just refuses to eat. Thankfully he will eat fruit (also anything sweet as most children but im not giving into that unless he has actually eaten savory) so fruit it is as i figure its healthy at least and filling. He will eat breakfast...and try one piece of sandwich or whatver for lunch. Not much though. And hot meals is a no go. Weird because until last week he ate everything and anything except fish...bleh dont blame him on that one!
A favorite game at the moment is this-enjoy! More updates soon! (ps, love the giggle)
