SO last sunday (the 29th Aprill) we had samuel blessed. As with Joshua, it was a moment i hope i will never forget. One thing i have felt so strongly both times my children have been blessed, is the love that is had between a father and (in our case) son! I think daddy and sons have a special relationship anyway, or at least my boys do. But i think in both cases, their blessings seem to have been the time that David clicks with his children. Sounds strange i know. We both think babies are boring you see. They sleep, eat, poop and cry... a lot! so we have enjoyed the part where Joshy was 6 months plus. But as a mother i think you have more closeness and patience and a protectiveness that i,s in most cases, pretty instant. With men ...or with david at least, it takes longer to get that connection. David always loved sam but with me breast feeding and with Joshy to entertain, it was hard for him to do as much with him. The blessing is the foirst thing that only he could do.
Anyway, it was lovely and i am very grateful to be not only Samuels (and Joshys) mother but also Davids wife. As stubborn, opinionated, bossy and up himself he is, he is also a loving, hilarious, kind hearted, protective and wonderful husband and i adore him!
We also had chance to meet up with family and friends who we celebrated with. We actually shared the blessing date with some friends of ours and their little baby, Robin which was nice. I wonder if they will be friends growing up?!
here are some pictures anyway....
