OK so not quite. But i decided to let the boys explore playing with fire a little more, in the form of matches and candlelights. i can imagine my mums face right now as i tell her my 3 year old played with matches.
However, they were supervised and loved it. We used a little tray that looks like it came from the Chinese. and a bit of metal gauze and some tea lights. the boys loved toasting marshmallows in the lounge and really enjoyed the fact that there was a little bit of danger attached. Even Samuel, at 19 months old, was able to toast his marshmallow without setting the house on fire. whoop whoop. Admittedly he did like to stub out the candle with his mallow but he was fine to do that. And we enjoyed blowing a lot of matches out. Sam has become a little pro at that ;)
What usually takes a minute to eat ended up taking 30 minutes with a nice chat and a whole new experience. We will sure be doing this again soon!
