We have friends hibernating with us. They came 10 days ago before lockdown as we knew it would be more fun with friends. It has been nice to have others to talk to, play games with, share the chores with etc. They are very relaxed and easy going and our children love them which is great. So we have taken to bed sharing in the mornings which is my favourite. Only real friends would slob in each others beds in pjs and face masks right. I needed it today. With little sleep for various reasons and my head full of worry, anxiety and uni work, we just needed to relax. So the children played on screens and we did eye masks and listened to music and hung out.
It's not my husband, but he wouldnt move out of my spot!
As well as this, we chatted, shared funny memes, watched interesting videos whilst each also touching base with friends outside of the house. We then settled in for a board game afternoon!
In moments like this, these real moments matter. My head hurts a lot from hiding out and stressing out but this helped a little. I find myself close to tears a lit, with anxiety bubbling so close to the edge. But knowing there are people who care for me, really helps. Making memories at this point makes the difference between being scared and feeling happy.
Tomorrow we will go back to focusing on the children and doing the stuff that needs to be done. But today (knowing the kids were safe, fed and loved) we focused on us. And I feel better prepared to take on another corona filled day! 11 weeks and counting...
