'We're going on a ...frog hunt?'

Today has been a day of mixed emotions for me. Between trying to write assignments and dissertations as well as have the constant thought of corona on my mind (does anyone else have it there, constantly?), its tricky to balance everything and stay calm. We did some story writing this morning for 'English time'. The boys loved writing their own stories whilst Evie drew and wrote about a rainbow. So cute! We then headed out on another adventure. Wow, the sunshine really makes a difference to my well being and I'm sure everyone elses. We decided to go on a bear hunt, just like the story. Through thick oozzy mud, long wavy grass, deep cold rivers...streams really... no snow storm though! As Evie covered herself in mud, the boys ran ahead clambering on everything and the men talked geek, I had a moment of gratitude. It's such a great opportunity to just be. Be in the present. Be part of someobes memories. Be together. So many reasons to be. But it's hard to remember and I appreciate that. That's why we need each other. That's why we need the small sunny moments in the day. It's why we need to not plan so much and not expect too much. It's all so uncertain and scary. And it's for that reason we need to live in the moment and learn what we can!
P.s thankfully there were no bears (although there was a huge fluffy dog that kindly shook mud and water all over us)... but the kids loved, and were successful at, hinting for frogs. We found three which made their day! Planning in the moment at it's best! We learnt a lot about frogs and how they feel and why!
